Aurora 25

The Aurora 32 exists on the Stylemaster Homes website, but Aurora 25 is yet to be made available.  Because of this, I’ll be holding back from uploading any floor plans and elevations until they make it official.

What I can do though is tell you a bit about the design and why we chose it.

Both my partner and I had our own wants.

Me

  • Home office/study space
  • Kitchen with a lovely sized pantry, window splashback, good quality appliances
  • Sufficient sized walk-in robe (his/hers)
  • Sufficient sized ensuite to the master bedroom
  • High quality inclusions
  • 4 bedrooms
  • Plenty of natural light
  • High ceilings
  • Decent facade (not traditional)
  • Swimming pool

Partner

  • Sufficient sized theatre room (practically the man cave)
  • Good quality appliances for the kitchen
  • High quality inclusions
  • Large entertainment area
  • High ceilings
  • 4 bedrooms
  • Swimming pool

Now, why did we end up choosing the Aurora 25?

The tender including all of our upgrades (and there were many), sat quite comfortably within our budget.  Many of the other builders (including upgrades) ended up dangerously outside our budget, especially with our commitment to building a swimming pool.  The swimming pool isn’t a ‘nice thing to have’… it is a must, especially when you’re living in Queensland – the notorious sunshine state.

The 4th bedroom will be changed to accommodate the home office space (yet can still be a bedroom if we decide to sell the house in future).  Everything else in both of our lists is a part of it’s basic design.  We did however pay extra for the facade to meet the building guidelines for Springfield Lakes, additional windows/screen doors to bring in more natural light (also changing the orientation of the house – which is free of charge anyway), adding a window AND glass splashback, upgrading to a 2.7m high ceiling, and paying extra for the Luxe range. Everything else left on the list will be built by us after handover (apart from the pool).

Any reservations?

Just one.  This design is so new that there are no display homes available anywhere.  Heck, it’s not even on their website.  We’re taking a gamble here.  Here’s hoping we win the lottery at the end of it all.  Even if we don’t and luck out, the bright side of this is that our first house together is going to be a house we both built in a lovely location in Springfield Lakes.  We gotta be thankful about that 🙂
